Samson Dauda Height, Weight, Body Measurements, & More
A deep dive into the Mr. Olympia champion’s size, diet, and workouts.

The 2024 Mr. Olympia champion, known as The Nigerian Lion, has quickly become one of the most talked-about athletes in the sport. If you’ve seen how huge he is, you’re probably interested in Samson Dauda’s height and weight.
In a sport where every inch of height and every pound of muscle impacts your look on stage, understanding Samson’s stats helps explain why he’s dominating the modern bodybuilding era.
In this article, we’ll break down Samson Dauda’s official height, competition/offseason weight, and body measurements. We’ll also compare him to past champions, look at his diet and training style, and review his rise through the pro ranks to the top of the bodybuilding world.
Samson Dauda Bio
Samson Dauda is one of the fastest-rising stars in professional bodybuilding. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, on March 11, 1986, Dauda moved to the United Kingdom in his youth, where he eventually discovered weight training. What started as a way to build strength for rugby soon grew into a passion that would propel him to the top of the bodybuilding world.
Dauda began competing in amateur bodybuilding shows in the mid-2010s, quickly making a name for himself with his combination of mass and aesthetics. He earned his IFBB Pro Card in 2017. After several years of climbing the ranks, he broke through in 2021 with his first pro victory, which qualified him for the 2022 Mr. Olympia.
Dauda’s biggest achievement to date came in 2024, when he won the Mr. Olympia title, defeating a stacked lineup and cementing his place among bodybuilding’s elite.

Samson Dauda Height
Samson Dauda’s official listed height is 5 feet 11 inches (180 cm), which is relatively tall compared to the historical average height of Mr. Olympia winners.
In the world of professional bodybuilding, height can influence proportions, aesthetics, and overall mass.
Shorter bodybuilders tend to look more compact, with stumpy arms and legs dominated by the thick torso. Conversely, taller bodybuilders sometimes appear lanky, with long arms and legs spindling out from a smaller torso.
However, Dauda’s 5’11” frame gives him an excellent balance where he doesn’t appear too compact or too lanky. His limb and torso proportions are well-balanced with broad shoulders and massive thighs tapering down to a small waist.

Dauda’s Height Compared to Other Bodybuilders
- Hadi Choopan (5’7″) – The 2022 Mr. Olympia champion is significantly shorter than Dauda. When the two stand side by side, Choopan’s compact frame makes him appear dense, while Dauda’s taller structure gives him a broader and more “classic“ silhouette.
- Derek Lunsford (5’6″) – The 2023 runner-up (and former 212 Olympia champion) is an inch shorter than Choopan. Next to Dauda, Lunsford’s shorter stature is obvious, further confirming Samson’s legitimate 5’11” listing.
- Andrew Jacked (6’2″) – One of Dauda’s closest rivals, Andrew Jacked, stands about three inches taller. Side-by-side photos of the two confirm that Dauda is slightly shorter, which aligns with his 5’11” measurement.

Samson Dauda vs Sam Sulek Height
Another interesting height check comes from a photo of Samson Dauda standing next to popular fitness influencer Sam Sulek, who is also billed at 5’11”. In the image, Dauda appears slightly taller, which could be due to footwear or distance from the camera. But it seems to suggest that Samson’s height listing is accurate—and maybe Sulek’s is exaggerated slightly.

Taken together, these comparisons with Choopan, Lunsford, Jacked, and Sulek reinforce the conclusion that Samson Dauda is indeed 5’11”, a height that provides him with the ideal balance of size, symmetry, and aesthetics on the Olympia stage.
Samson Dauda Weight
Samson Dauda’s weight is another factor that sets him apart from many of his Olympia rivals. At around 300 pounds on stage, Dauda stands out as one of the biggest bodybuilders of all time.
In the offseason, he bulks up to as much as 330 pounds, but maintains relatively low body fat year-round.
- Contest Weight: 290-305 pounds (138 kg)
- Off-Season Weight: 315–330 pounds (143–150 kg)
Dauda’s longer frame carries a tremendous amount of muscle, making him one of the heaviest competitors on today’s stage. His height and weight are almost identical to the legendary Ronnie Coleman.

Yet what makes his physique so impressive is not just the number on the scale, but how he carries that weight. Despite being one of the heaviest men in bodybuilding today, Dauda has avoided the common pitfall known as “gorilla gut.”
His conditioning continues to improve year after year, and his ability to showcase both size and shape makes him a legitimate contender for multiple Olympia titles.
Dauda’s Weight Compared to Other Bodybuilders
- Hadi Choopan (~220-230 lbs contest) – Choopan gives up about 75 pounds to Dauda on stage, which makes Samson appear much larger when they pose together.
- Derek Lunsford (~220-230 lbs contest) – Like Choopan, Lunsford’s weight is significantly lower than Dauda’s, which makes his victory at Olympia 2023 even more notable. While Derek brings insane conditioning and proportions, Samson dwarfs him in terms of overall mass.
- Andrew Jacked (~290-300 lbs contest) – At 6’2″, Andrew Jacked is close in stage weight to Dauda, although 3“ taller. Their physiques often draw direct comparison, but Samson tends to look thicker and denser, especially through the legs.
Samson Dauda Body Measurements
Exact measurements for Samson Dauda aren’t as well-published as his height or weight, but there are several sources and fan/community estimates that give a solid idea. Plus, given the verified numbers for his height and weight, we can make educated estimates for some key measurements.
Known Measurements
A 2025 TikTok video shows Dauda getting both arms measured in a gym with the tape revealing an incredible 24 inches.

To put that in perspective, the average man’s arm measures just 14.6 inches when flexed. And Dauda’s massive arms are 3 inches bigger than the average man’s thigh!
Other Measurements/Estimations
Because other measurements like chest, thigh, and waist are less reliably sourced, here are estimates based on his physique photos and comparison to similar athletes.
- Arms: 24 inches
- Chest: ~ 58 inches
- Waist: ~ 34 inches
- Thighs: ~ 32 inches
- Calves: ~ 21 inches
These numbers align with what fans and analysts have observed — huge chest and arms, but a relatively tight waist, contributing to his dramatic V‐taper.
Caveats and Transparency
With the exception of the arm measurement, these numbers are compiled from secondary sources, fan sites, or estimates, which may not always be verified.
Additionally, measurements can vary significantly under different conditions (contest shape vs off‐season, pump, carb loading, etc.). Appearance in photos can exaggerate or underplay specific dimensions depending on factors such as lighting, compression, and pose.
In short, take these and measurements from other sources with a grain of salt!
Samson Dauda Diet & Nutrition
In a 2021 YouTube video, Samson Dauda provided a detailed look into a full day of eating during his offseason, where he aims to gain as much size as possible while weighing over 300 pounds.
Dauda explains that the offseason is all about consuming as many calories as possible due to his fast metabolism. He avoids cardio, other than walking his dog, to prevent burning additional calories.
And he incrementally increases his calorie intake each week or so to continue gaining weight as his metabolism adapts.
Most of Dauda’s meals are pre-prepared on the weekends. He focuses on an 80/20 rule, where 80% of his meals are clean and 20% are “junk“ to make up the calorie difference. He emphasizes that eating this much food becomes a necessity rather than a pleasure.
The video doesn’t add up the macros and calories for all these meals. So I entered every food and quantity into MyFitnessPal to see exactly how much Dauda actually eats while bulking up.
Here’s a look at Samson Dauda’s full day of eating:

| Total | 571g protein, 640g carbs, 236g fat | 6,940 calories |
The first thing that jumps out to most people about Samson Dauda’s diet is the sheer amount of calories he eats—almost 7,000 a day. That’s about as much as three ordinary men.
As a nutrition coach, Dauda’s 571-gram daily protein intake is up there with the highest I’ve seen. As crazy as that protein number looks, it’s a little under 2 grams per pound, which is actually not uncommon for elite bodybuilders.
Dauda’s carb intake is also around the 2-gram-per-pound mark, or 37% of his calorie intake. I was somewhat surprised that his carb consumption wasn’t higher, given his training demands.
Overall, though, Samson Dauda’s macronutrients are well balanced. The numbers just look shocking due to his immense size and unique energy needs.
Samson Dauda’s Workout Routine
Samson Dauda’s training is a blueprint in high volume, strategic intensity, and compound-heavy work. His workouts are tailored to support his massive size, maintain proportion, and ensure conditioning when stepping on stage.
Key Training Principles
- High Volume + Supersets: Dauda uses supersets frequently, especially later in his training cycle, to increase time under tension and maximize efficiency. As he has said in interviews, “time-saving workouts“ combining heavy weight and high reps have helped him break through plateaus.
- Mix of Compound & Isolation: While the heavy compound lifts (squats, presses, row variants) form the foundation of his mass, Dauda ensures each muscle gets isolated work too—arms, chest flyes, rear delts etc.
- Time Under Tension & Controlled Reps: For muscle growth and conditioning, he emphasizes not just lifting heavy but executing controlled reps, full range of motion, and focused mind-muscle connection. Supersets, drop sets (especially for shoulders), and slow negatives are part of his formula.

Contest Prep Training Adjustments
When preparing for Olympia or other major contests, Dauda makes tweaks to his baseline routine:
- He increases superset/dropset usage to prioritize intensity with lower rest.
- He decreases volume slightly, often adding more isolation work (rear delt, chest flyes, arms) to sharpen definition.
- The rep ranges and tempos may change (lighter weights with higher reps to improve conditioning.)
